For the past few months Wild Heart Collective has had the privilege of working with the City of Edmonton to animate Jasper Avenue during the Experience Jasper Avenue demonstration taking place between 109 and 114 Streets. The vast scope of this project has given us the opportunity to work collaboratively with local businesses, artists, musicians and makers (exercising truly what it means to be a collective). The people we have met along the way and the results we have seen have been inspirational and mind-blowing. Check out a few key pieces of animation:
Public Art
Wild Heart connected with Edmonton's local Art scene to create larger-than-life murals. Thank you to Neil McLeod, Jason Blower, Vikki Wiercinski, Sergio Serrano, Jill Stanton, Ryan Wayne, Dallas LaRose and Mike Martin. Head down Jasper Avenue to see these pieces of art until October 31, 2017! (Images courtesy of City of Edmonton).
Street Murals
We enlisted the expertise of local Artists to demonstrate the extended curb-lanes and shorter crosswalks. If you are walking along Jasper Avenue between 109 and 114 street you will see the artwork of Borys Tarasenko, Jill Stanton, Dallas LaRose, Lauren Crazybull, Trinity Youth Art Project, Fresh Canvas and Neil McLeod . Parklets
We worked with local industrial designers and builders to create beautiful areas that act as recreational areas, chill out zones, pop-up shops and even a stage! Some of the performers we have had include Paul Woida, The Give'Em Hell Boys, Andrew Scott, Stan Gallant, Travis Matthews, Jarret Gray, Douglas MItchell, Rebecca Lappa & more! Thanks to Alexander Stewart + Devin Hobbins, Danielle Soneff + Max Amerongen, Timbre Cowork and Oliver Apts. (Images courtesy of City of Edmonton)
Stay tuned as we share more updates and photos from this cool project! There are still two more months left of this demonstration and hopefully the weather holds up! Follow the action using #ExperienceJasperAvenue on social media!
